Barstool Fund Raising Millions To Help Small Business

Back in December, Dave Portnoy, Founder of Barstool Sports, was challenged by Marcus Lemonis, television host of “The Profit” and “Streets of Dreams”, to put his MONEY, where his MOUTH is, to help small businesses... NOW!

Dave donated $500,000 to the Barstool Fund, which directly, AND quickly, puts money in the hands of struggling small business owners across the country.

To date, over $26 million dollars has been raised, due to donations from over 180,000 supporters, including Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Kid Rock, Guy Fieri, and The New England Patriots. CNN, Fox News and TODAY have all covered the incredible, and continuing story.

Over 130 small businesses from across America have received funds within 72 hours to help keep their doors open, including Roomer’s Nightclub in Lake Placid, New York.

Roomer’s has been a staple on Main Street in the Village of Lake Placid for 30 years, dependent on tourism, and late night entertainment. Theresa Pomerville, who now owns Roomer‘s, has been searching for relief efforts to keep the hot spot open, within a small town that hosted the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics. Her overhead outweighs her profits during this pandemic, with little to no government assistance, and needed another “Miracle on Ice” to keep the lights on.

After submitting an application to the Barstool Fund, the ”miracle” arrived on virtual skates, as a FaceTime call from Dave, ensured Roomer’s would be able to carry the torch through these overwhelming times.

With the NHL back on the ice, the NBA back on the hardwood floors, and the road to Super Bowl 55 upon us, Roomer’s is the place to be in Lake Placid, to watch every play, and dance the night away (6 feet apart of course!).
