In the small town of Corsicana, Texas, Navarro College head cheer coach Monica Aldama demands perfection from her team of competitive college athletes, earning respect and recognition from coast to coast.
The path of blood, sweat and cheers to a coveted national title was captured in the Netflix documentary CHEER, which was released in January and nominated for SIX Emmy Awards!
Navarro's cheerleaders placed first in their division at the NCA's National Championship in 2019 — the 14th first-place score the team has received since head coach Monica Aldama joined 24 years ago
Now, Monica Aldama will transition from stunts and tumbles on a stage, to a samba and tango in the ballroom, during Season 29 of “Dancing with the Stars“, which premieres on Monday, September 14th on ABC.
Summer Wilkinson achieved her goal of winning a National Championship, as a proud member of the 2019 Navarro College cheer squad, alongside teammates Lexi Brumback, Jerry Harris, Shannon Woosley and Morgan Simianer. She has since transferred out of state to pursue an education in Utah.
Summer is also the founder and creative director of SALLTT, a premium fitness wear line, expected to drop SOON!
